In simple terms
Cutera photorejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to improve the skin's overall quality. The light targets pigmentary and vascular irregularities — spots and redness — to even out the complexion. By stimulating collagen, it also revives the skin's radiance and texture, without damaging it.
What we use, and why
We use Cutera photorejuvenation technology, which emits intense pulsed light selectively absorbed by the melanin in spots and the hemoglobin in small vessels. The heat generated targets these irregularities while preserving the surrounding skin.
The settings are adjusted to your skin type and the concerns targeted. In a single session, IPL acts on spots, mild redness and radiance, while stimulating collagen — a comprehensive, non-invasive approach with no downtime.
Is it right for you?
Who it’s for
For those with pigmentation spots, sun damage, diffuse redness or an uneven complexion, who wish to improve their skin's overall quality with no downtime.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, recently tanned or sun-exposed skin, certain darker phototypes, use of photosensitizing medication, active infection. A skin assessment precedes every treatment to confirm its safety.
What this treatment cannot do
It does not add volume, relax expression lines or correct significant laxity. Certain deep pigmentation, such as melasma, may require a different approach.
Realistic expectations
Results build over the sessions. Targeted spots first darken, then flake off, revealing a more even complexion. Rigorous sun protection is essential to preserve the effect.
Preventive treatment
Regular sessions help maintain an even complexion and treat sun damage early, before it deepens over time.
Where this procedure takes place
The treatment takes place in our high-end medispa space, in a private setting that meets medical standards. It is performed by a qualified member of our team, following strict hygiene and sterilization protocols.
What happens, step by step
Before
We assess your skin and the areas to treat. It is essential to avoid sun, tanning and self-tanners in the weeks before the treatment, and to pause certain actives if needed.
During
Your eyes are protected, a gel is applied, then the device delivers light pulses over the area. You feel a light snap, like an elastic band, along with warmth. The treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes.
After
The skin may look pink and feel warm, like after a mild sunburn, for a few hours. The targeted spots temporarily darken. A high sun protection is applied before you leave.
What to expect, and when
First few days
Redness fades within a few hours. The targeted spots darken, take on a grainy look, then flake off naturally over the following days.
First few weeks
As the spots slough off and redness diminishes, the complexion looks more even and radiant; texture improves gradually.
Result longevity
Results build across a full series, and collagen stimulation continues over several months. Daily sun protection and maintenance sessions preserve the benefit.
