Pre-Operative Instructions
The success of a procedure does not depend on the surgical act alone. Proper preparation in the preceding weeks reduces risks, supports healing and maximizes your results. These recommendations complement — without replacing — your surgeon's instructions.
The 2 to 4 weeks before your procedure
Medication & Supplements
Inform us of all medications and supplements you take. Avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) if your surgeon recommends it, and stop, on medical advice, any supplements that may increase bleeding risk (high-dose vitamin E, ginkgo, omega-3). Never change a prescribed treatment without your doctor's approval.
Tobacco & Alcohol
Stopping smoking is recommended at least 4 weeks before your procedure, as it reduces tissue oxygenation and increases the risk of scarring complications. Also limit alcohol in the 7 days before surgery.
Hydration & Nutrition
Maintain good hydration and favour a diet rich in protein and nutrients. Avoid restrictive diets before surgery: good nutrition improves cellular recovery.
Logistical Organization
Prepare your home (pillows, loose clothing, easy access to essentials), arrange for someone to accompany you home, and organize your calendar to limit stress.
The day before and the day of your procedure
Eating instructions & fasting
Carefully follow the fasting instructions provided for your procedure (the period without food or drink before the scheduled time). If you are unsure about these instructions, contact our team before the day of surgery.
Skin preparation & hygiene
Shower according to the recommendations provided and do not apply any cream, makeup or nail polish on the day of your procedure. Remove jewelry and contact lenses, and follow any specific skin-preparation instructions.
The day of your procedure
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, arrive at the agreed time and bring identification along with any requested documents. Make sure someone can accompany you home after your procedure.
Our role in your preparation
We support you from the weeks leading up to your procedure to optimize your preparation, your comfort and the conditions for your recovery.
Each protocol is personalized according to your procedure and your needs.
