In simple terms
Dermal fillers are injections, most often based on hyaluronic acid, that restore volume and redefine the contours of the face. By filling hollowed areas — lips, cheeks, folds, chin — they smooth creases and bring harmony and freshness back to the features, naturally and reversibly.
What we use, and why
We use Health Canada–approved hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally present in the skin — biocompatible and reversible: if needed, its effect can be dissolved with an enzyme.
The density of the product and the injection technique are chosen according to the area treated and your anatomy. This precision restores volume with restraint: the goal is never to transform your face, but to rebalance and harmonize your features.
Is it right for you?
Who it’s for
For those noticing a loss of volume, less defined contours or pronounced folds, who wish to restore facial harmony with a natural result.
Contraindications
Pregnancy and breastfeeding, known allergy to the components, active infection or inflammation in the area, certain autoimmune conditions. A medical assessment precedes every treatment.
What this treatment cannot do
It does not correct significant skin laxity or excess skin, which call for other treatments or surgery, and it does not relax dynamic expression lines (the role of neuromodulators).
Realistic expectations
The result is visible immediately and refines once mild swelling subsides, within one to two weeks. It is temporary and fades gradually; maintenance keeps the effect.
Preventive treatment
By restoring volumes that fade with age early on, fillers can help preserve facial balance and slow the appearance of hollowing.
Where this procedure takes place
The treatment takes place in our high-end medispa space, in a private setting that meets medical standards. It is performed by a qualified member of our team, following strict hygiene and sterilization protocols.
What happens, step by step
Before
We assess your volumes, proportions and goals, then plan the areas to treat. Avoiding alcohol and certain anti-inflammatories for a few days beforehand may be advised to limit bruising.
During
After cleansing the skin and applying a numbing cream, the product is injected with a fine needle or a cannula, in small, controlled amounts. The treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes.
After
The area may show mild swelling or slight redness, which is temporary. You leave right away and resume your activities, following the guidelines for the first 24 to 48 hours.
What to expect, and when
First few days
Volume is visible immediately. Mild swelling or small bruises may appear and usually subside within a few days.
First few weeks
The product integrates with the tissue and the result settles within one to two weeks, revealing natural, balanced contours.
Result longevity
Depending on the area and the product, the effect usually lasts 6 to 18 months. The hyaluronic acid then resorbs gradually; maintenance keeps the result.
