What it is, simply
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to modify the shape or structure of the nose to enhance its appearance — correcting a hump, a nose that is too wide or too long, or harmonizing its proportions with other facial features. Our approach favors the closed technique, with incisions hidden inside the nose.
What we use, and why
Closed rhinoplasty makes all incisions inside the nostrils, with no visible external scar. This approach allows precise reshaping of the nasal bone and cartilage.
The choice of technique and extent of correction are determined based on the patient's anatomy and aesthetic and functional goals.
Is this right for you?
Who it's for
This surgery suits men wishing to correct a nasal hump, a size or shape perceived as disproportionate, or nasal asymmetry.
Contraindications
Incomplete nasal growth, uncontrolled bleeding disorders, or unrealistic expectations about the result.
What this procedure cannot do
This surgery does not necessarily correct underlying breathing issues, which should be assessed separately if present.
Realistic expectations
A better-proportioned nose, harmonized with the rest of the face. Final swelling resolves over several months, with a definitive result after about a year.
Preventive care
This procedure is corrective: it modifies a nasal shape perceived as disproportionate.
Where this procedure takes place
This surgery takes place in an accredited operating facility, with a complete medical team including an anesthesiologist and qualified nursing staff. Sterilization and safety standards match those of a hospital setting.
What happens, step by step
Before
A consultation assesses the nasal structure and your aesthetic and functional goals. Smoking and certain medications must be stopped before surgery.
During
Under general anesthesia, incisions are made inside the nose to reshape the bone and cartilage. The procedure takes 2 to 3 hours.
After
A nasal splint is fitted before you leave, with clear instructions to sleep with your head elevated during the first few days.
What to expect, and when
First few days
Swelling and bruising around the eyes are normal and gradually resolve.
First few weeks
Return to daily activities after about 2 weeks; moderate physical activity after 4 weeks.
Lasting results
Residual swelling continues to resolve over several months, with a definitive result after about a year.
Recovery is part of the care
Restrictions
Avoid activities with risk of facial impact and wearing glasses on the nasal bridge for several weeks.
Recommended local care
Keep the nasal splint dry, and follow the cleaning instructions provided by the medical team.
Warning signs
Fever, persistent bleeding, or worsening pain should be reported to the medical team.
