What it is, simply
High-definition liposuction, or the Total Definer technique, is a surgical procedure that removes localized fat deposits while sculpting the body around key muscle groups. Unlike traditional liposuction, it highlights natural anatomy — abdominals, obliques, chest, or back — for an athletic, harmonious silhouette tailored to each patient's build.
What we use, and why
The Total Definer technique combines precision liposuction with personalized muscle mapping. Small incisions, hidden within the body's natural folds, allow for selective fat removal around targeted muscle groups without damaging them.
Depending on your needs, Vaser® ultrasound-assisted technology or Quantum RF may be combined with the procedure for added precision and complementary skin tightening — delivering more defined results than conventional liposuction, with a comparable recovery time.
Is this right for you?
Who it's for
This surgery is suited to individuals in good general physical condition who have stubborn, localized fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise, and who wish to enhance the definition of the abdomen, chest, arms, or back.
Contraindications
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, uncontrolled bleeding or clotting disorders, obesity (high body mass index), certain cardiovascular conditions, or active smoking not paused before surgery.
What this procedure cannot do
This surgery is not a substitute for significant weight loss and does not treat obesity. It does not correct pronounced skin laxity, which may require a complementary skin-tightening or excision procedure.
Realistic expectations
Optimal results emerge gradually as swelling resolves, typically between 3 and 6 months. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle helps sustain results over time.
Preventive care
This procedure is corrective rather than preventive in nature: it refines a silhouette already close to the desired result, rather than preventing localized fat from developing.
Where this procedure takes place
This surgery takes place in an accredited operating facility, with a complete medical team including an anesthesiologist and qualified nursing staff. Sterilization and safety standards match those of a hospital setting.
What happens, step by step
Before
A prior consultation is required to assess your anatomy and goals. Certain medications (blood thinners, anti-inflammatories) must be avoided before surgery, and smoking must be stopped several weeks in advance.
During
Under general anesthesia, small incisions are made within the body's natural folds. Fat is selectively removed around the targeted muscle groups, with the possible use of Vaser® or Quantum RF technology. The procedure takes 2 to 4 hours.
After
A period of observation follows surgery in the recovery room. A compression garment is fitted before you leave, and detailed instructions are provided for the first few days.
What to expect, and when
First few days
Swelling, bruising, and some discomfort are normal during the first few days; these are well managed with prescribed medication.
First few weeks
A return to daily activities is generally possible after 7 to 10 days. Physical exercise can be gradually resumed after 4 to 6 weeks.
Lasting results
Optimal results appear between 3 and 6 months, once swelling has resolved. They are long-lasting if a stable lifestyle is maintained afterward.
Recovery is part of the care
Restrictions
The compression garment must be worn for about 6 weeks. Strenuous physical effort and heavy lifting should be avoided during this period.
Recommended local care
Keep incisions clean and dry, follow the cleaning instructions provided by the medical team, and wear the compression garment as prescribed to support the result.
Warning signs
Fever, worsening pain, unusual discharge, or spreading redness should be reported to the medical team promptly.
